Finally, today i had my last appointment! AND I am finally dilated to 2cm and effaced 50%. So things are happening and I'm glad to see that my sporadic contractions are doing something. I had an ultrasound yesterday and to everyone's surprise the technician estimated the baby's weight to only be at about 7lbs 6oz! However, when I saw my actual doctor today, she said she doesn't trust that because just by the look and measurement of my belly, the baby is bigger than that. Plus, she said she had a patient once who had an ultrasound the same as mine and the baby was actually 10lbs! So, I guess things like that can happen. Based on the result of the ultrasound I could technically just wait until my due date, but I chose to keep the induction date because my instinct tells me the weight estimate is wrong and my doctor agrees that he's bigger and she's had a lot of experience with this!
She also said I could very possibly go into labor before Wednesday! So in 5 1/2 days or less, there will be a baby here! I'm super excited and nervous at the same time. Oh, and I forgot to mention how cool it was to see the ultrasound yesterday! She said he has hair, and sure enough you could see the light fuzz around his head on the ultrasound! Also, we saw his cute little face and he looks just like Ethan! He has HUGE cheeks and a little pointy chin just like Ethan did when he was born. So that was very cool. Too bad it wasn't the 4D ultrasound but I guess it's nice to leave some things to be a surprise. We are just so anxious to meet this little guy! Wish me luck!!!

BEST of luck!!!!
Yea, I think Lorie will agree that having a 10lb baby is NOT fun!
But yay!
We've had so many babies popping out all over, and last night I realized you're the last one! So now we'll just have to wait and see who gets pregnant next!!!
I was just talking to Josh about that! You guys and Chelsea and Nick are the only other couples we know that want to have kids! Well, it won't be me next, I'm waiting a few years before another baby. A good job for Josh and a house are next on the list for us before anything else.
So Bianca was 10lbs?! Did she delivery her normally? OW!!!!
haha, yea I can see chelsea & nick beating us to it :) Just b/c we're in your same boat - we want to be able to buy a bigger place by the time we get pregnant so we're all settled in. And we need to do some damage to our Wedding debt before we can justify that :(
Yup! 10lb baby...she was going normal, but Bianca was coming out at an angle and there wasn't room for them to adjust her, so she was basically stuck, so THEN they had to deliver via C-Section. I was over there last night and Lorie still has numbness and can barely walk upstairs! She got the worst of both ways of birthing!
i'm pretty sure this will be their last kid..
Hope that didn't just freak you out!
AHHH!!!!!! SO EXCITING!!! Aaaaaand this will be the THIRD comment I make to various blogs where you MUST tell Josh to keep me updated!! I'm SO stoked!!! I didn't even know you could see such detail in ultrasounds...that's just amazing. Anyway, GOOD LUCK!!!! I bet you'll do just fine :) :) :)
Don't worry Monica, it only scares me a little. That almost happened to me when i had ethan cause he was stuck! Also, that's what happened to my sister with her first one; she went through labor but never felt the urge to push and then they realized he was breach and had to do a c-section. C-sections are really rough because it's considered a major surgery and you can't do ANYTHING for like 2 weeks including lifting, driving, walking up stairs, etc... I think I've gone over EVERY possible scenario in my head about what may happen so all I can do now is be mentally prepared for anything becasue it's out of my hands!
Kitty, we'll definitely keep you updated on what's up. Josh is all excited about being able to call everyone and have people come to the hospital because we missed that with Ethan! I didn't know you could see things like hair on the ultrasound either because I never had one this late in the game when i was preggers with ethan. It must be awesome to see the 4D one but i hear most insurance companies won't cover it and it's really expensive. But, like I said, it's nice to keep some things as a surprise and not see every detail before they are born!
